\n Head of Interim Government Says Understanding was Reached on Events in Tripoli, Stresses Government Rejection of Military Coup\n Tripoli, 19 January 2104(LANA) The Head of the Interim Government has declared that an understanding was reached over the events in Tripoli, that followed a statement by a border guard brigade in which it demanded the General National Congress members to step down.\n In a statement last night, the head of Government said \'an understanding was reached this afternoon, and wisdom prevailed, I am confident that the General National Congress will take the responsibility the people put in and act accordingly.\'\n Zaidan reiterated the government position rejecting the military coups or the use of force to submit the will of the people. Peaceful dialogue and difference of opinion should be respected, he said.\n The Government was not looking make score points , rather to achieve positive results which would save blood and maintain the peacefulness of the political activity.\'\n He called on political, civil and military groups of the entire Libyan society to respect the wish of the majority of the people for a quick transit of power by means of legitimate elections.\n The Prime Minister called on everyone in the nation to shoulder their responsibility in this difficult time in which the country is going through, to respect the blood of martyrs and to work for the establishment of a state of law, order, peace and freedom the long-sought dream of all Libyans.\n The Head of the Interim Government said he had contacts from several Arab and Foreign officials who wanted to be reassured over the situation in Libya, including, he said, the French Foreign Minister, the Qatari Prime Minister and the Egyptian Defence Minister.\n =LANA=\n\n\n
