Al-Baour meets with the Chadian Foreign Minister

Tripoli - November 6, 2026 (LANA) - Taher Al-Baour, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, met on Thursday evening with Ahmed Kougri, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Chadians Abroad of the Republic of Chad, to discuss the issues on the agenda of the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), scheduled to be held on Saturday in Tripoli. They also discussed coordination and consultation on the topics to be addressed, with the aim of ensuring the success of the session and strengthening joint action within the framework of the Community.

The meeting was attended by the high-level delegation accompanying the Chadian Minister, and from the Libyan side, the following: Al-Shaibani Abdullah Al-Shaibani, Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), Alaa El-Din Al-Tajouri, Director of the African Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Othman Fadl Othman, Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Chad, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity.

The two sides also discussed bilateral relations between their countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, in order to serve the common interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples. They emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern.
