Rashad discusses developments in Libya and addressing shared challenges with Al-Zoubi in Cairo

Cairo, November 4, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Major General Hassan Rashad, received the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Lieutenant General Abdulsalam Al-Zoubi, in Cairo. The two sides discussed the evolving situation in Libya and exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest.

According to the "Hukumatuna" (Our Government) platform, the two sides reviewed efforts aimed at addressing existing challenges—particularly in the security and military spheres—as well as ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise, with the goal of supporting stability and developing the capabilities of the relevant institutions.

Both parties underscored the importance of maintaining communication and coordination, expanding the scope of bilateral cooperation, and working together to confront shared challenges, in a manner that strengthens the security and stability of both countries.
