Tripoli, November 4, 2026 (LANA) – Massad Boulos, an advisor to the U.S. President, reaffirmed the United States' support for the formation of a unified executive authority in Libya.

This came during a phone call Boulos held yesterday with the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, to discuss developments regarding the unification of Libyan institutions.

Boulos stated that Washington emphasizes the implementation of the agreement reached by the "4+4" working group as a pathway toward national elections. He also welcomed UN Security Council Resolution 2835, which supports the United Nations mission and strengthens measures to hold those who obstruct the political transition accountable.

He expressed his country’s concern regarding recent developments at the Central Bank of Libya, stressing the necessity of protecting the independence of Libyan economic institutions and preserving their technical integrity.

The U.S. presidential advisor further emphasized the implementation of the unified budget agreement to safeguard financial stability and the purchasing power of citizens. He warned those obstructing the political process in Libya of the consequences, including the possibility of being placed on sanctions lists.
