Dbeibah emphasizes the importance of the Customs Authority in securing entry points and combating smuggling

Tripoli, November 3, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, underscored the vital role of the Customs Authority in securing border crossings, regulating trade, and combating smuggling.

This came during his remarks on Tuesday at a graduation ceremony for a new cohort of 513 Customs Authority officers from various cities and regions across the country, following their completion of a six-month training and qualification program, according to the "Hukumatna" (Our Government) platform.

In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of training customs personnel and enhancing their professional competence to enable them to fulfill their responsibilities in safeguarding the national economy.

The training program, designed to prepare non-commissioned officers for service within the officer corps, included coursework in customs sciences and specialized subjects relevant to their duties, alongside military training.
