Tripoli, November 2, 2026 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, met today, Monday, with the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Fawzi Abu Khuzam. The discussion focused on financial and economic developments in the country, as well as ways to strengthen coordination between the government and the Central Bank.

The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated that the meeting addressed fiscal and monetary policies, measures to support the stability of the Libyan dinar exchange rate, and strategies for tackling economic challenges. Additionally, the two sides explored mechanisms to enhance fiscal discipline and regulate public spending.

Both parties underscored the importance of maintaining institutional coordination between the government and the Central Bank, and of unifying efforts to address fiscal and monetary imbalances. Such cooperation is intended to support economic stability, ensure the continuity of banking services, and bolster confidence in the banking sector.
