The Finance Committees of the High Council of State and the House of Representatives Review Proposed Technical and Financial Observations on the Unified Salary Scale

Tripoli, November 1, 2026 (LANA) – The meeting held today, Sunday, between the Finance Committee of the High Council of State and the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives, in the presence of Central Bank of Libya Governor Fawzi Abukhamza and Finance Minister Rashid Abughafa, focused on reviewing the proposed unified salary scale for public sector employees and examining its provisions and financial and administrative details.

The meeting, held in Tripoli, was also attended by Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, Minister of Civil Service Abdulmonem Ibrahim, and Minister of Planning Mohammed Al-Zeidani. Discussions focused on the technical and financial observations submitted regarding the proposal, with the aim of reaching a balanced formula that ensures fairness in wages, takes into account differences between job categories, and eases the cost-of-living burden on citizens, while remaining within the state's financial capabilities.

The meeting comes as part of ongoing coordination between the two committees to complete the review of the proposal and introduce the necessary amendments, in preparation for drafting the final report and presenting it to the House of Representatives during its session scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, in the city of Sabha, for consideration and the adoption of the necessary measures.
