Tripoli, November 1, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Technical and Vocational Education in the Government of National Unity, Khalaf Al-Saifaw, affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation with Italian educational and technical institutions and expanding partnerships in training, qualification, and the exchange of expertise, which will contribute to developing the technical and vocational education system in Libya.

The Ministry stated on its official page that this came during the Minister's meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Chimura Izzoro, on Saturday evening, on the sidelines of a ceremony awarding certificates to the winners of scholarships provided by the Italian government. The ceremony coincided with the 26th Italian Language Week.

In his remarks on the occasion, Al-Saifaw emphasized the depth of Libyan-Italian relations and the importance of developing existing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of technical and vocational education, vocational training, and the development of national personnel, in a way that serves mutual interests.

He highlighted the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry's Human Resources and Training Department and the Italian Welding Institute, considering it a framework for enhancing specialized training and leveraging Italian expertise to develop technical and professional skills and raise the efficiency of national personnel according to approved professional standards.

The Ministry explained that this step comes within the framework of its strategy to expand its international partnerships with specialized educational and training institutions and benefit from international experiences, thereby supporting the quality of technical and vocational education outcomes and linking training programs to labor market needs.
