U.S. Embassy welcomes continued engagement between Libyan parties and the UN mission

Tripoli – October 30, 2026 – (LANA) – The U.S. Embassy in Libya welcomed, on Thursday, the continued engagement between Libyan parties and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). This engagement aims to reach a consensus on a political path that leads to the formation of a unified executive authority, the unification of institutions, and the holding of credible presidential and parliamentary elections.

In a post on the platform "X," the Embassy commended efforts aimed at strengthening the unity of the judiciary.

In a separate post, the U.S. Embassy in Libya affirmed that the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) will continue to support Libya’s efforts to consolidate unity and maintain security throughout the region.
