London, October 28, 2026 (LANA) – Members of the "4+4" Mini-group meeting reaffirmed their commitment to continue engaging with all political stakeholders to garner support for the August 30 agreement, with the goal of holding presidential and parliamentary elections as previously agreed upon.

This came during their third meeting, held today, Wednesday, in the British capital, London, to follow up on the implementation of the August 30 agreement—signed in Tripoli—and to continue discussions on the essential requirements for conducting presidential and legislative elections, according to the UN mission.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, participants underscored the critical importance of unifying the judiciary to ensure the organization of successful and credible elections, the results of which would be accepted by all parties.

The members of the small group emphasized their full respect for the impartiality and independence of the judicial institution. In this regard, they decided to expand consultations with various components of the judiciary to reach solutions that would enable a unified judicial institution to fulfill its role in ensuring the success of the electoral process.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the members agreed to reconvene in two weeks' time.
