Takala Discusses Strengthening Financial Oversight and Protecting Public Funds with Audit Bureau Deputy

Tripoli, October 27, 2026 (LANA) – President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met on Tuesday with Anwar Al-Housh, Deputy Head of the Audit Bureau, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli to discuss several issues related to oversight of public funds.

The meeting addressed a number of matters concerning the oversight of public funds, monitoring government expenditure, and reviewing the state’s final accounts. Discussions also covered ways to strengthen institutional cooperation to improve the effectiveness of financial oversight, reinforce the principles of transparency and accountability, and ensure the proper management of public resources.

According to the Council’s media office, the meeting emphasized the importance of safeguarding the independence of the Audit Bureau and enabling it to carry out its duties in accordance with applicable legislation. This would help strengthen the integrity of financial and administrative performance, address shortcomings, rationalize public spending, and protect the state’s assets in the public interest.
