Al-Menfi and Al-Zobi discuss efforts to unify military institutions.

Tripoli, 26 October 2026 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council, Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met yesterday in Tripoli with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Abdul-Salam Zubi.

During the meeting, AL-Zobi briefed Al-Menfi on the ongoing efforts to unify military institutions as part of national endeavors to build a unified military institution based on sound professional and legal foundations.

The meeting underscored the importance of completing technical and coordination efforts while respecting the institutional frameworks and legal mandates governing this process to ensure that the proposed steps are consistent with the requirements of unified military command and decision-making while safeguarding the integrity of procedures and their national reference framework.

The meeting comes as part of the Supreme Commander’s follow-up on the process of unifying the military institution and his commitment to ensuring that any future arrangements are based on institutional consensus and clear legal procedures, thereby strengthening state sovereignty and supporting efforts to achieve security and stability in Libya.
