Deputy Minister of Defense Discusses Strengthening Defense and Security Cooperation with British Delegation

Tripoli, October 25, 2026 (LANA) – Deputy Minister of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Abdulsalam Al-Zoubi, discussed on Sunday with a British military delegation headed by Major General John Clarke ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of defense and security.

The Ministry of Defense stated on its official page that the meeting was held at noon at the ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, and several members of the accompanying delegation.

The ministry explained that the meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of issues of mutual interest, in addition to discussing prospects for developing defense and security cooperation.

Al-Zoubi emphasized the depth of Libyan-British relations and the importance of expanding areas of cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continuing consultations, coordination, and the exchange of views in ways that contribute to supporting security and stability in Libya and the region.
