Ministry of Agriculture Delegation Discusses Cooperation with the Kazakh Space Research Center.

Astana – October 24, 2026 (LANA) – A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity discussed potential cooperation with the Kazakh Space Research Center. This discussion took place as part of the ongoing working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Abdul Latif Al-Taher.

The meeting—chaired by the Minister’s advisor, Dr. Mohamed Hosni, and attended by the Deputy Head of the Kazakh Space Research Center, Amanat Mambetbayev, along with several center officials and specialists—explored prospects for technical cooperation. The focus was on utilizing satellite technologies and remote sensing to support the agricultural sector, specifically in mapping agricultural land, monitoring vegetation cover, detecting plant pests and diseases, analyzing soil and water resources, and tracking climate change, drought, and desertification.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise, and leveraging modern space technologies to advance agricultural and livestock production, as well as to support food security and sustainable development in Libya.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation toured the center, where they examined its key departments and observed the processes involved in manufacturing and testing satellites using state-of-the-art technology.
