Government of National Unity’s Foreign Ministry Condemns Explosion Targeting Jordan

Tripoli, October 24, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Jordan, affirming its categorical rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism directed at places of worship and intended to terrorize peaceful individuals.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Ministry emphasized that terrorism has no religion, and that targeting places of worship constitutes an assault on human values ​​and the principles of coexistence and tolerance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reiterated Libya’s solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, expressing wishes for its continued security and stability.

On Friday, the Director of the Jordanian Public Security Directorate, Major General Obeidallah Al-Maaytah, announced that 7 people had been killed and 34 others injured in a shooting incident inside a church in the Karak Governorate, south of Amman.
