Tripoli, October 14, 2026 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, received Maltese Minister of the Interior Glenn Bedingfield and his accompanying delegation in Tripoli on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Minister of the Interior Major General Imad Al-Trabelsi, Secretary-General of the Cabinet Office Adel Dweihir, and the official in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour.

Discussions focused on the issue of illegal migration and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Libya and Malta. The two sides reviewed the outcomes of consultations regarding the activation of the Joint Libyan-Maltese Committee, the enhancement of communication and coordination between relevant agencies, and the expansion of security cooperation.

They also addressed mechanisms for following up on consultations to bolster coordination and joint cooperation concerning migration and security issues of mutual interest.
