Al-Zani discusses African issues of mutual interest with the Foreign Minister of Equatorial Guinea

Tripoli, October 11, 2023 (LANA) – Fathallah Al-Zani, Minister of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, discussed cooperative relations between the two countries today, Sunday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, Marcos Ondo.

The meeting—held following the arrival of the Equatoguinean Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation in Tripoli to participate in the 14th ministerial meeting of the African Committee of Ten (C10) on UN Security Council reform—addressed enhancing coordination and consultation on African issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Al-Zani emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperative ties between Libya and Equatorial Guinea and fostering coordination and consultation regarding African issues of shared concern.

This visit takes place within the framework of African efforts to unify positions and enhance coordination among C10 member states. These efforts aim to support the common African stance on UN Security Council reform, ensuring fair representation for the African continent within the UN system that reflects its stature and role in upholding international peace and security.
