Launch of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of the Arab Region of Girl Guides

Tripoli – October 11, 2026 – (LANA) – The official opening ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the Arab Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts took place today, Sunday. The event was attended by the Minister of Social Affairs of the Government of National Unity, several department directors from the Ministry of Youth, the Chair of the Arab Region, and the General Commissioner of the General Movement of Scouts and Guides along with his deputy.

The ceremony was also attended by female members of the House of Representatives and members of the High Council of State, as well as distinguished female leaders and honorary members of the Region, and outstanding young women from ten sister Arab nations who gathered under a single banner.

The Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity stated that the ceremony celebrates sixty years of dedicated service in the scouting and guiding movement, highlighting the Arab Region’s efforts to build the character of Arab girls, develop their leadership capabilities, and instill values ​​of volunteerism, a sense of belonging, and community service.
