Al-Baour meets with Sierra Leone’s Foreign Minister

Tripoli, October 11, 2026 (LANA) – Taher Al-Baour, the official in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, met on Sunday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sierra Leone—who also serves as the coordinator of the African Committee of Ten (C-10) on UN Security Council reform—Mohamed Rahman Swaray. They discussed ways to enhance African cooperation and coordination regarding issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the reform of the UN Security Council.
The Ministry stated on its official page that the meeting addressed mechanisms for intensifying consultations between Libya and African nations, as well as unifying diplomatic positions and actions to support the continent's shared demands, thereby contributing to enhanced African representation within the United Nations system.
The two sides discussed ways to coordinate efforts to advance international negotiations on Security Council reform, ensuring fair African representation that reflects the continent's stature and its role in matters of international peace and security.
This meeting takes place within the framework of strengthening coordination among African states, unifying visions regarding UN Security Council reform, and supporting the common African position in relevant international negotiations.
