Vâlcea – October 9, 2026 (LANA) – Joint veterinary health certificates have been signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity and the competent authorities in Romania, aiming to expand options for importing meat and animal products into the Libyan market.

The "Hukumatna" platform reported that the certificates cover live sheep and cattle; red meat, fish, and poultry; and sheep and cattle liver, thereby enabling the regulation of the supply of these products in accordance with approved health requirements.

The signing ceremony took place in the Romanian county of Vâlcea, attended by Mohamed Al-Turki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Head of the Management Committee of the National Center for Animal Health, and Alexandru Bociu, Head of the Romanian National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority.

The platform added that this move aims to facilitate trade between the two countries and diversify sources of animal products for the Libyan market, while ensuring compliance with veterinary health and food safety standards.
