The Foreign Ministry of the Government of National Unity affirms to the Iranian ambassador Libya's rejection of the targeting of Arab states

Tripoli, October 8, 2026 (LANA) – Al-Hassan Mohamed Rabha, Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received the Iranian Ambassador to Libya, Einollah Souri, in Tripoli on Wednesday. During the meeting, Rabha reaffirmed Libya’s steadfast position that conflicts can only be resolved through peaceful and diplomatic means.
Rabha emphasized Libya’s rejection of violations against the sovereignty of any state—particularly the targeting of brotherly Arab nations—and stressed the necessity for all parties to adhere to public international law.
The Director highlighted the historical ties binding the two nations, and the two sides discussed the status of bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both parties agreed to maintain ongoing communication and coordination to foster bilateral cooperation and expand its horizons between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Mirhadi Mousavi, First Secretary at the Iranian Embassy; Amer Khalifa Abridan, Head of the West and Central Asia Department at the Ministry; and Hamza Hamed Ahmida, the official in charge of the Libya-Iran relations portfolio.
