Tripoli, October 8, 2026 (LANA) – The Education Office of the Hay Al-Andalus Municipality welcomed the agreement reached between the Office of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and the General Syndicate of Libyan Teachers regarding various issues, demands, and rights concerning teachers. It also welcomed the resulting resumption of the educational process—effective yesterday, Wednesday—and the return to classes across all educational levels.
In a statement, the Office expressed its appreciation for the efforts that led to these understandings, noting their contribution to addressing teachers' demands, promoting social justice, and unifying public sector salaries in a manner that respects the rights of education sector workers and upholds the principle of equity.
It emphasized that resuming classes represents a significant step toward stabilizing the educational process and creating a suitable environment for students to continue their education and for classes to proceed regularly at all levels.
