Dbeibah: Implementation of the unified salary scale will begin with the salaries for the current month of October.

Tripoli, October 6, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, announced that the unified salary scale will be implemented starting with the salaries for the current month of October, thereby achieving social justice. This announcement came during a meeting held on Tuesday with the General Syndicate of Libyan Teachers—led by Head of the Syndicate Ramadan Hammoum—and attended by Minister of Finance Rashid Abu-Ghafa and the Secretary-General of the Cabinet Office, Adel Dweihir. The meeting addressed various issues related to the educational process and teachers' rights, following the announcement that classes would resume and schools would open to students starting tomorrow, Wednesday, according to the Prime Minister's Media Office.

Dbeibah emphasized that the students' interests are a top priority and reiterated the government's commitment to supporting teachers and educational staff. He commended the Syndicate's efforts to safeguard teachers' rights and stressed the importance of coordinating efforts among all relevant stakeholders to enhance the educational process.

The Prime Minister explained that the unified salary scale would take effect with the October salaries to ensure social justice. He noted the regular disbursement of the "class-load allowance" in coordination with the Ministry of Education, the payment of allowances for school principals and deputy principals alongside the October salaries, and the calculation of salary differentials resulting from Law No. 4 to protect teachers' entitlements.

Regarding health insurance, Dbeibah stated that the government is working to include the state's entire workforce in its insurance plan under the relevant authority, while also continuing work on issuing specific regulations for teacher protection.

For his part, the Head of the General Syndicate of Libyan Teachers—according to the Media Office—appreciated the government's efforts to support teachers and the educational process, praising the measures and support packages implemented for the benefit of teachers.
