Al-Zadma discusses cooperation and development files in southern Libya with the Egyptian Chargé d'Affaires

Tripoli – October 6, 2026 (LANA) – Salem Maatouq Al-Zadma, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, met today, Tuesday, with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Libya, Ambassador Tamer El-Hefny, to discuss a number of issues and files of mutual interest to both countries.
The meeting, held in Tripoli, addressed ways to strengthen Libyan-Egyptian relations and expand areas of joint cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples.
The two sides discussed several matters of shared interest and emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Tripoli and Cairo to support stability and open broader horizons for cooperation across various sectors.
The discussion also touched upon the potential to leverage Egyptian expertise and companies to support development efforts in the southern region and to enhance cooperation in the implementation of development projects and programs.
At the conclusion of the talks, both parties affirmed their commitment to maintaining communication and coordination, thereby strengthening the historic ties between Libya and Egypt and supporting their shared interests.
