Benghazi, October 5, 2026 (LANA) – The House of Representatives held a session today, Monday, presided over by Misbah Douma, in the absence of the Speaker, Aguila Saleh.
During the session, Douma delivered a farewell address on behalf of the House leadership, announcing the suspension of the House of Representatives' leadership body's activities. This suspension will remain in effect until a session is convened—chaired by the eldest member—to elect a new Speaker of Parliament to succeed Aguila Saleh.
