Pulbished on:

Tripoli, October 5, 2026 (LANA) — Member of the Presidential Council, Moussa Al-Koni, called on the government to meet the demands of teachers and to remain in continuous session until their demands are addressed.

Al-Koni made the remarks in a post on the X platform marking World Teachers’ Day, which falls today, Monday, October 5.

Al-Koni said that the world honors teachers on this international day, noting that UNESCO has made this year’s theme a call to rise to strengthen the conditions of 107 million female and male teachers around the world and support them.

The Presidential Council member continued by saying that it is unfortunate that the demands of the teachers’ movement in Libya have not received a response. He said, “The government should have remained in continuous session until their expectations were met.”
