New Alamein, October 3, 2026 (LANA) – The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, participated today, Saturday, in the official opening session of the First African Business Forum in the city of New Alamein, Egypt.
The forum is attended by a number of African heads of state and government, as well as prominent business leaders and representatives from leading institutions and companies across the continent.
The forum aims to advance African economic integration and expand cooperation among the continent's nations, thereby contributing to the stimulation of trade and investment and the strengthening of public-private partnerships.
Proceedings focus on operationalizing the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement and supporting the growth of intra-African trade. Discussions also cover mechanisms for developing development corridors, transport networks, and logistics connectivity, as well as fostering an environment for entrepreneurship and empowering startups.
Furthermore, the forum's sessions address key priorities on the African development agenda—foremost among them food security, agricultural finance, and investment mobilization—to enhance the capacity of African economies to achieve sustainable growth and deepen economic integration across the continent.
