Tripoli, September 29, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, emphasized the importance of developing leadership capabilities and skills, upholding responsibility and professional ethics, and remaining aloof from political wrangling. He noted that these elements contribute to building a professional military institution capable of performing its duties to protect the homeland and its citizens.
He made these remarks while attending the third day of the Unified Cultural Week for 2026 graduates of military academies and colleges. Organized by the Moral Guidance Department of the General Staff, the event is being held at the Naval Staff Headquarters theater under the theme: "Knowledge that Cements Doctrine; Awareness that Shapes Leadership." The event was attended by the Chief of Naval Staff and the Director of the Moral Guidance Department.
Al-Namroush highlighted the importance of the academic and cultural qualification of graduating officers, the reinforcement of national values and military doctrine, and a commitment to discipline and military order. He stated that these factors enhance their readiness to carry out their tasks and responsibilities, each according to their specialization and position.
According to the General Staff, the Cultural Week—which runs until October 1st—is part of a plan to boost the moral and cultural development of graduates. The program includes lectures, seminars, and workshops covering military, national, and intellectual topics, alongside efforts to hone leadership and discipline skills.
