Governor of CBL Participates in AIIB Annual Meetings.

Doha, 29 September 2026 (Lana) Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, participated in the 11th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), held in Doha, Qatar, on September 28 and 29 under the theme “Tomorrow’s Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation.”

The meeting brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, government representatives, international financial and development institutions, and private-sector leaders to discuss the future of sustainable infrastructure investment, green financing, digital transformation, strengthening regional connectivity, and mobilizing capital to finance development projects.

The Governor’s participation comes as part of efforts to strengthen Libya’s presence in international forums and financial institutions, expand cooperation with multilateral development institutions, and benefit from international experiences in development financing, infrastructure, innovation, and digital transformation.

The meetings also provide an opportunity to hold discussions and exchange views with senior officials and decision-makers from international financial institutions and member states and to discuss areas of cooperation that could support economic and financial development and stability in Libya.

This meeting is particularly significant as the AIB enters its second decade of operations, with a focus on expanding the impact of its investments and strengthening its role in financing more sustainable, resilient, and innovative infrastructure.
