The High Council of State discusses national reconciliation, transitional justice, and the affairs of displaced persons

Tripoli – September 27, 2026 (LANA) – The High Council of State’s Committee on National Reconciliation, Transitional Justice, and Displaced Persons Affairs held its regular meeting today, Sunday. The meeting was chaired by Ibrahim Abu Shaala and attended by the Committee’s Deputy Chair, Othman Mathkour; the Rapporteur, Zainab Tushi; and other committee members.

During the meeting, the Committee discussed several topics regarding its operations. Foremost among these was the need to provide the necessary resources and support to enable the Committee to effectively perform its duties and achieve the desired outcomes in the files entrusted to it, according to the High Council of State.

The Committee also reviewed various files and issues related to national reconciliation, transitional justice, and the affairs of displaced persons. It examined operational mechanisms for addressing these matters, alongside coordinating with the Council’s leadership and following up on necessary actions.
