Takala Discusses Latest Developments in Libya’s Political Process with Russian Ambassador

Tripoli, 23 September 2026 (LANA) — President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, received today, Wednesday, in Tripoli, the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aidar Aganin, and discussed with him the latest developments in Libya’s political process.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in Libya’s political process and the efforts being made to support dialogue and national consensus. The two sides also exchanged views on current developments and ways to create the appropriate conditions for reaching the electoral milestones through a process based on legal and constitutional frameworks while preserving the role of Libyan institutions.

According to the Council’s Media Office, the two sides also discussed Libyan-Russian relations and ways to develop them in various fields, emphasizing the importance of maintaining communication and consultation, strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and supporting efforts to achieve stability in Libya.
