Al-Namroush emphasizes the importance of translating the Sirte meeting of Chiefs of Staff into action on the ground.

Tripoli, September 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, emphasized the importance of translating the discussions held during the meeting of the specialized branch chiefs of staff in Sirte into practical measures on the ground.

This statement came during a meeting held on Wednesday with the Chiefs of Staff of the Air Force, Air Defense, and Navy to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting they had previously held with their counterparts in Sirte.

The Chief of the General Staff received a briefing from the specialized branch chiefs of staff regarding the proceedings of the meeting, the discussions held, the joint issues addressed, and the conclusions reached.

The specialized branch chiefs of staff noted that the meeting was characterized by a spirit of responsibility and mutual understanding, resulting in an agreement to maintain channels of communication and coordination between the two sides.

Al-Namroush commended the meeting's outcomes, reiterating the importance of translating the discussions into practical actions on the ground. He also acknowledged the role of the UN mission and its efforts to bridge viewpoints, support dialogue, and overcome obstacles facing the process of unifying the military institution.
