Libyan-Djiboutian Talks to Develop Cooperation in Livestock Production and Agricultural Investment

Tripoli, 23 September 2026 (LANA) — A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources of the Government of National Unity, headed by the Ministry's Director-General and Acting Chairman of the National Center for Animal Health Management Committee, Dr. Mohamed Al-Turki, held talks with the Minister of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand investment partnerships in the agricultural and livestock sectors.

The talks took place during an expanded meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism in the Djiboutian capital, in the presence of Libya's Ambassador to Djibouti and members of the technical delegation accompanying the Ministry's Director-General.

The meeting discussed opportunities to develop cooperation and exchange technical expertise, support joint projects in the fields of livestock production, pasture development, and agricultural investment, as well as strengthen coordination between the relevant institutions in both countries to facilitate procedures and overcome obstacles to the implementation of joint projects.

The Djiboutian Minister of Trade and Tourism affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Libya and to provide the necessary facilities and support to qualified individuals and companies seeking to establish investment projects, in a manner that contributes to expanding the prospects for economic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources' efforts to develop cooperative relations with brotherly and friendly countries and to open new opportunities for investment in the agricultural and livestock sectors, in support of economic development and food security.
