Tripoli, September 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, met on Wednesday with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh. The meeting, attended by the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, addressed the latest developments in the political process and efforts to advance the political track.

According to the Prime Minister's Media Office, the meeting covered ways to support national consensus and strengthen efforts to unify state institutions—steps that contribute to ending the transitional phase, holding elections, and achieving lasting stability.

Dbeibah emphasized the importance of pushing for elections, viewing them as the path that aligns with the government's vision, concludes the transitional phase, and leads to stability. He also highlighted the need to create the necessary political and institutional conditions to successfully hold them.
