Abdelatty and Bourita Discuss Developments in Libya and Coordination to Support Regional Stability.

Tripoli, 23 September 2026 (Lana): Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty discussed with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita the latest developments in Libya, as well as developments in Sudan and the Palestinian issue, during their meeting on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, held on Tuesday, the two ministers stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultations on regional issues of common interest in a manner that contributes to supporting security and stability in the region and enhancing joint Arab and African action.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed a number of regional issues, foremost among them developments in Libya, where the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments, as part of consultations between the two countries on issues affecting the security and stability of the region.

The meeting also addressed bilateral relations between Egypt and Morocco, where Abdelatty affirmed his country’s commitment to continue strengthening joint cooperation in various areas, commending the outcomes of the first session of the Egyptian-Moroccan Coordination and Follow-up Committee and stressing the importance of building on them to advance economic and trade relations and investment between the two countries.
