Al-Baour Discusses Unifying Arab Positions on Regional and International Issues

New York, 22 September 2026 (LANA) – Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, yesterday participated in the annual consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers, held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting was chaired by Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti, who is also President of the 166th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, and was attended by Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
The meeting discussed the coordination of Arab positions on issues on the agenda of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as efforts to unify Arab views and positions on priority regional and international issues. Foremost among these were developments concerning the Palestinian cause and developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to a number of other issues and files of concern to the Arab world.
The ministers also discussed ways to strengthen joint Arab action and coordinate positions within the United Nations and other international forums, in a manner that contributes to supporting Arab causes and interests and strengthening Arab solidarity.
