Al-Baour and Algerian Foreign Minister Discuss Cooperation and Regional Coordination.

Washington, 21 September 2026 (Lana) The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, discussed with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf ways to strengthen Libyan-Algerian cooperation and coordinate positions on regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting was held on Sunday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, in the presence of Libya’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Taher El-Sonni.
The meeting discussed prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries in the political, security, economic, and development areas, in a manner that strengthens bilateral partnership and meets the aspirations of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
The two sides also reviewed developments in the Sahel region and their repercussions on the region's security and stability, stressing the importance of coordinating efforts and unifying positions in multilateral forums, particularly at the African level.
The meeting also discussed supporting efforts aimed at consolidating stability and promoting consensus on issues of common interest.
