Al-Baour discusses enhancing academic cooperation between the two countries with the British Ambassador.

Tripoli – September 13, 2026 – (LANA) – Al-Taher Al-Baour, charged with managing the affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met on Sunday at the Ministry’s headquarters with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds. They reviewed cooperative relations between the two countries and discussed ways to strengthen and develop them to serve mutual interests. The meeting was attended by Abu Bakr Al-Taweel, Director of the European Affairs Department; Mustafa Abu Rakhis, Head of the Western Section within the department; and Hassan Al-Toumi, the official responsible for the bilateral relations portfolio.

The meeting also addressed prospects for cooperation regarding the exchange of expertise and the enhancement of academic collaboration between the two nations. Additionally, discussions covered efforts to sign cooperation agreements between the British Council and various Libyan universities, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation, as well as the strengthening of communication channels, to serve the shared interests of the two friendly nations.
