Libya participates in the proceedings of the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference

Cairo – September 13, 2026 – The Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation of the Government of National Unity, led by Ali Al-Abed Al-Reda, participated today, Sunday, in the 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference. Organized by the Arab Labour Organization, the event is taking place in Cairo, Egypt, from September 13 to 20, 2026.

Libya’s delegation included representatives from the three production stakeholders—government, employers, and workers—alongside labour ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives from Arab, regional, and international organizations and unions across 21 Arab countries.

The conference addresses several issues concerning the future of work in the Arab region, most notably sustainable economic growth, social development, the impact of climate change on the work environment, digital transformation, skills development, and efforts to boost employment and combat unemployment. These discussions aim to contribute to the development of Arab labour policies and support the creation of decent, sustainable job opportunities.
