Sirte Hosts Libyan-French Economic Summit on Investment and Development

Sirte, September 10, 2026 (LANA) – Today Thursday afternoon, the city of Sirte is hosting the Libyan-French Economic Summit on Investment and Development. Sponsored by the National Development Agency, the event brings together Libyan academics, economists, French businesspeople, and representatives from French companies, alongside a delegation from the French Embassy in Libya.
The summit proceedings are set to begin this afternoon to explore prospects for economic and investment cooperation between Libya and France. The event aims to open new avenues for partnership and the exchange of expertise and knowledge, thereby supporting development efforts and the diversification of the Libyan economy.
The LANA correspondent in Sirte reported that the summit agenda includes discussion sessions covering several sectors and areas of mutual interest, such as energy, development, infrastructure, the economy, occupational safety, and urban planning.
The summit is scheduled to conclude today with the signing of several memoranda of understanding with the National Development Agency, as part of efforts to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two sides.
This summit takes place within the framework of supporting economic partnerships and expanding investment horizons, thereby bolstering Libyan-French cooperation in the fields of development and investment.
