Bin Ghalbon discusses expanding economic and investment cooperation with the Chinese Ambassador

Tripoli, September 9, 2026 (LANA) – Mohamed Bin Ghalbon, Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, met on Wednesday with the Chinese Ambassador to Libya, Ma Xueliang, to discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and elevate them to a more effective partnership across various sectors.

The meeting addressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination regarding regional and international issues of mutual interest, with the Libyan side expressing appreciation for China’s supportive stance toward Libya.

The two sides discussed expanding the scope of economic and investment cooperation and leveraging Chinese expertise in fields such as reconstruction, development, water resources, and artificial intelligence, thereby supporting Libya's development pathways.

According to the "Hukumatuna" platform, both parties affirmed their aspiration to see practical, tangible steps in the coming period to enhance cooperation—political, economic, consular, and developmental—and to translate areas of mutual understanding into programs and projects that serve the interests of both nations.
