The United Nations condemns the incidents that occurred at one of its centers in Tripoli

Tripoli, September 8, 2026 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned the “repeated incidents” that occurred Monday morning at the headquarters of a service center run by one of the UN agencies in Tripoli.
In a statement issued Tuesday, UNSMIL said that the relevant authorities have taken measures to address these incidents and have launched an investigation into the circumstances, particularly the aggressive behavior directed at center staff and those seeking humanitarian assistance. The mission stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to prevent their recurrence.
The United Nations reiterated its call for the use of credible and verified information in the public sphere and reaffirmed its commitment to constructive cooperation and close collaboration with Libyan authorities and local communities.
