Tetteh affirms the UN mission's commitment to continue working with Libyan actors to achieve stability through elections

Tripoli, September 7, 2026 (LANA) – The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, reaffirmed the UN mission's commitment to continuing to work with all Libyan actors and supporting their efforts to achieve stability through elections.
This came during her meeting with the Second Deputy Speaker of the High Council of State, Omar Bushah, as part of the ongoing consultations conducted by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) with all Libyan parties following the signing of the mini-meeting agreement, according to the UN mission.
Discussions focused on the UN-facilitated roadmap and current political, security, and economic developments in Libya.
The discussions also addressed, according to the mission, the importance of inclusive participation and mobilizing collective efforts to advance the political process and create the conditions conducive to holding national elections.
