Al-Baour and Sudanese Foreign Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Latest Developments in Sudan

CAIRO, September 7, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Monday, with Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation in a manner that serves the common interests of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

The Ministry said on its official page that the meeting was attended by Libya’s representative to the League of Arab States and Acting Head of the Libyan Embassy in Cairo. The meeting took place on the sidelines of their participation in the 166th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers, held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in Sudan and stressed the importance of supporting efforts aimed at achieving security, stability, and peace, while preserving Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultations and exchanging views on issues of common interest, particularly within the framework of the League of Arab States, in a manner that strengthens joint Arab action and supports the interests of the two brotherly countries.
