Benghazi, 6 September 2026 (Lana) President of the Presidential Council Mohamed Al-Menfi affirmed that the most challenging responsibility following the reconstruction of educational institutions is to build a modern and genuine education system that creates a university environment conducive to creativity and ensures students’ intellectual freedom and access to comprehensive scientific research aligned with the needs of the labor market and production.
This came in a post on his official account yesterday, in which he expressed his thanks to Engineer Belgassem Haftar, in his personal and official capacity, for inviting him to attend the opening ceremony of Qar Younis University in Benghazi following its renovation and refurbishment.
Al-Menfi stated that a prior engagement prevented him from attending the ceremony, expressing his appreciation for the Fund’s efforts to reconstruct and renovate the university buildings, while expressing confidence in the Fund and the Libyan government’s ability to undertake the responsibility of developing the educational process.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that students, throughout their various stages of education on campus, enjoy intellectual freedom and have access to scientific research integrated with the needs of the labor market and production, contributing to the creation of a modern educational environment that encourages creativity.
