Al-Namroush discusses defense cooperation and Flintlock 2027 exercise with German military attaché

Tripoli, September 1, 2026 (LANA) – Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. “Salah al-Din al-Namroush,” discussed with the Military Attaché at the German Embassy in Libya, Lieutenant Colonel “Thorsten Wiesmach,” prospects for strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
According to the General Staff, the meeting addressed ways to open new avenues for cooperation in a number of defense fields, particularly training, qualification, and the exchange of expertise, in addition to discussing preparations for the “Flintlock 2027” military exercise.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain communication and hold subsequent meetings to discuss and determine the forms of support and contributions that Germany could provide to Libya in various defense and training fields, in a manner that contributes to developing capabilities, enhancing efficiency, and strengthening joint cooperation.
