Dbeibah Stresses Adherence to the Unified Development Agreement as the Basis for Spending in the Next Phase.

Tripoli, 31 August 2026 (Lana) Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, stressed the need to adhere to the Unified Development Agreement as the basis for public spending in the next phase, in a way that supports the economy and strengthens financial stability, emphasizing that organizing spending according to clear priorities is fundamental to the sustainability of development programs.

This came during his participation, alongside Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Naji Issa, in a meeting of the Economic Policy Council held yesterday to follow up on the latest economic developments and the growth in oil production, as well as a number of issues related to spending, supply, and financial stability.

Dbeibah also stressed the need for concerted efforts among the relevant authorities to ensure the regular implementation of supply programs and the provision of food, medicine, and fuel, while addressing any difficulties that could affect the smooth flow of supplies or market stability.

The meeting reviewed programs for supplying food, medicine, and fuel, as well as measures taken to ensure the smooth flow of supplies and meet essential needs, in addition to discussing facilitating procedures for opening letters of credit and following up on the growth in oil production.

The meeting was attended by Secretary-General of the Cabinet of Ministers Adel Dhwaiher, the Ministers of Finance, Oil, Economy, Transport, and Planning, and Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects Mustafa Al-Manea, as well as the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, the Chairman of the Libyan Investment Authority, and the Director General of the National Economic and Social Development Board.
