Tripoli – August 30, 2026 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) commended the significant efforts made by the delegations of the 4+4 Mini-Dialogue on Sunday, emphasizing that the signing of the 4+4 mini-meeting agreement is not the end of the political process in Libya, but rather an important step towards the next phase.

The Mission added that it will continue working with the relevant Libyan parties to support the implementation of the agreement and strengthen efforts to unify state institutions so they can lead the country towards elections.

The United Nations called on all Libyan institutions and political actors to engage constructively with the agreement, fulfill their commitments, and prioritize the national interest and the right of the Libyan people to choose their representatives through fair and inclusive elections.
