Takala Discusses the Latest Political Developments in Libya with the Russian Ambassador

Tripoli, August 26, 2026 (LANA) – President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Libya, Aydar Aganin, to review the latest political developments in Libya.

The meeting addressed the latest political developments in Libya and efforts to advance the political process and overcome the current deadlock. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Libya and Russia.

According to the Council’s media office, the meeting also emphasized the importance of maintaining communication and consultation, and supporting efforts aimed at achieving consensus and stability in a way that contributes to creating suitable conditions for completing the electoral process. The two sides also discussed developing cooperation between the two countries in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
