Takala discusses the latest political developments in Libya with the Russian ambassador

Tripoli, August 26, 2020 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Libya, Aydar Aganin, to discuss the latest political developments in Libya.

The meeting addressed the latest political developments in Libya, the efforts being made to advance the political process and overcome the current stalemate, as well as an exchange of views on a number of issues of common interest. They also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Libya and Russia.

According to the Council's media office, the meeting also emphasized the importance of continued communication and consultation, and support for efforts aimed at achieving consensus and stability. This would contribute to creating the appropriate conditions for holding elections, in addition to developing cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves their common interests.
